Happy Labor Day?!?!

Well I sure hope everyone has had a great labor day.  I am still exhausted from the potential debacle that occured Saturday evening in Charlotte.  My voice still has not recovered from screaming obsenities at basically anyone and everyone in a Gamecock uniform (I'm lookin right at you Gilmore...aren't you considered a first round pick) or golf shirt (*cough* Spurrier *cough, cough*).  But hey to win big you have to win some games along the way you "shouldn't" win (2011 Auburn about 10 times, 2009 Alabama, 2006 Florida), so the Gamecocks will take that win and move on.  Let's take a look around the league and see how the conference did:
MISSIPPI STATE- Rolled Memphis.  Vick Ballard had a monster game on the ground, Chris Relf had a monster game at QB.  Auburn and LSU the next two weeks.  I feel comfortable saying it should get slightly more difficult.
KENTUCKY- Best thing about this game (other than the fact that two teams from Kentucky chose to play a regular season game in Nashville...which is in Tennessee for those who don't know) is this 7 step drop from Morgan Newton!  Nothing else good happened in this game.
AUBURN- So apparently I was wrong, Chris Cooley could have helped his Aggies.  You blew a 10 point lead with 2 minutes to go...come onnnnn dog.
ALABAMA- Questions answered: 1) I give the nod to McCarron even though they both threw 2 picks (226 pass yards and a touchdown to 73 yards and 0 TD for Sims) and despite McCarron only moving his lower arms when he runs.  Seriously, whats that about?
S. CAROLINA- I mean what are we doin?  Fine, ECU's air raid offense can score a lot, but to lead 24-14 at the half??  A joke, no more QB competition there.  Sorry Connor Shaw, I hope you're ready next year.
GEORGIA- Can everyone admit Boise is a good team now??  For the love of god, they're good.  They'r been good for 10 years now.  Just cause they're in "inferior" Mountain West means nothing.  They're a good team and they will continue to prov it all year.  Georgia, all is not lost.  This team is still good enough to win 8 or 9 games.
TENNESSEE- Pounded Montana 42-16.  I didn't really pay attention to this one I will be honest.  Just really didn't create any kind of emotion towards this game.  Total and complete ambivalence (oooo that was one of them big words).  It appears the Vols played well though...
VANDERBILT- Absolutely laid the wood on Elon.  Good way to start the James Franklin era so that's good news.  The bad news?  Elon doesn't play in the SEC.  Nasvhille is a cool city though.  So they got that goin for them...which is nice.
OLE MISS- Lost to BYU 14-13.  They blew a 13-0 fourth quarter lead.  Their starting QB completed 2/3 passes before being palled...in the second freakin quarter. The worst news?  They lost their best player; RB Brandon Bolden, indefinitely to a fractured ankle.  Again...why did they fire Cutcliffe?
FLORIDA-  Crushed Florida Atlantic 41-3.  They lead 24-0 before the Owls had a first down.  Chris Rainey, who told reporters to "ask God" when asked waht helped him have such a good game, scored touchdowns three different ways.  63 sports main concern, freshman OL Trip Thurman, did not get in the game.  An injured shoulder will likely force him to redshirt.
ARKANSAS- Beat the pants off Missouri State.  Joe Adams had the play of the weekend, when he picked up a punt that he muffed and returned it 70 some yards for a touchdown.  Crossing the field two different times.  Two more cupcakes on the schedule (New Mexico and Troy) before big boy football starts (Alabama).
LSU- You know, I'm not gonna give teams credit for blocking out distractions when they are self-imposed.  But LSU played a well-rounded game and beat a good Oregon team.  Still don't buy into LSU, but they got a win.  I guess we should be used to that by now with this team...
Palmetto Roofing Service Academy Game
NAVY- Dominated the pride fo the First State.  Showdown with South Carolina in two weeks.  Scary propostion for the Cocks.
Good week for 63 sports!  11-0 in games this week.  I'm gonan go out on a limb and jsut assume we'll stay perfect for the whole year.
